Jabs & FA
Saturday, October 14, 2006

Today, we met 7.45am @ Novena, to get to Tan Tok Seng (travellers' clinic) to get our Haelth briefing and Jabs.

We were splitted into to 2 teams as some weren;t able to make it on time for the appointment @8.30am. We almost lost oir way, we had to ask stranger for direction. Upon reaching, we had to fill in some form.

After the briefing, we had the Jabs while some were still taking the Jabs, the @nd team arrived, including Jackie. Therefore, the guys purposly make fun of him, trying to scare him by screaming as he was afraid of needle (he eben need 2 nurse to attend to him just to get the 2 Jabs done) .

Then we proceed back to Woodland for lunch and First Aid (FA) workshop, we had Joshua1 & Fazi as our planner. We were taught how to do a item check in the FA kit. We also gone through the CPR, head, arm & leg injuries, when people get choke. We all had a chance to try out our skills.

It was really fun, we also had a brak after that... Last but not least, we had a evacuation exercise, Sherrill & Jia ming were the casualty.

My experience:
Sherrill: Chia Hao, Farhana, Syaz, Jackie, Fatima and me
-head injury, bleeding
-fracture left arm & leg
-used sleeping bad as structure
-conscious-->unconscious-->no pulse no breathing-->conscious

Jia ming: Sulaiman, Gareth, Jennifer, Sze Hao and Joshua2
-human structure to shoulder lift

i was in the sherrill attend team, we had to shift her diwn with limited manpower to W4, where the "ambulance" is, lift was unavailable, we had to use the stair, it was a challenging one. However, the fun part was when i was transfer to attend Jia ming, Sherrill was laying on the grass patch when the water spray suddenly activated hence the Team got wet so was the casaulty. I was in a delimma as they ask for my help but i wasn't able to go over as i was doing a human structure then However, they did managed to get Sherril over to the "ambulane" and Chia Hao came over to help after that.

Our human structure-->shoulder lift-->caterpillar walk (but some doesnt know where their right/left hence unable to listen to comment, jux like me)

We had a De-brief after the evacuation and had some feedback. However, this time we did better as compared to the Ubin trip, as were had some prior skill in mind and we worked with a team of mixed gender, and some voulnteer to take up different roles such as recorder and runner.

Though we did a better and good job but there are still room to improve before the Chiag Rai trip (11-24 Dec).
